Who Is Responsible For Your Data
Taxi Service Paris is the data controller for the personal data collected on this website. The company details are in the Legal Notice.
For any question about your data, email bookings@taxiserviceparis.com or call +33 7 83 07 73 27.
What We Collect
We collect only what you type into our two forms, plus one technical value used against spam.
The booking form
- The journey: pickup and drop-off, the address or hotel name for Paris City and hotel pickups, the date and time, and the return date and time for a return trip.
- The party: the number of passengers and large cases, and whether you want a name board in arrivals.
- Your contact details: full name, email address and mobile number.
- Your notes for the driver, such as a flight number or a child seat request.
The contact form
- Your name, your email address, a phone number if you give one, the topic and your message.
Technical data
To stop automated spam, the server reads your IP address when you send a form or ask for a fare. It keeps only a scrambled version of it (a SHA-256 hash), saved with your booking or message and in a short-lived request counter. The hash cannot be turned back into the address.
Like every web host, ours keeps standard server logs of the pages requested, with the IP address, for security. Their retention follows the host's own rules: to confirm.
Why We Use It
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR article 6) |
|---|---|
| Quote a fare, arrange the transfer and send you the confirmation | Taking steps at your request before a contract, then performing it (6.1.b) |
| Give your chauffeur the details needed for the pickup | Performing the contract (6.1.b) |
| Answer a message sent through the contact form | Our legitimate interest in replying to you (6.1.f) |
| Keep invoices and accounting records | Legal obligation under French commercial law (6.1.c) |
| Block spam and repeated automated requests | Our legitimate interest in keeping the forms working (6.1.f) |
We do not send marketing emails, we do not sell or rent your data, and no decision about you is made automatically.
Who Sees Your Data
- Our team: the dispatch staff who handle bookings, and the chauffeur assigned to your journey, who receives your name, mobile number, the pickup details and the name board text.
- Our web host: the company named in the Legal Notice stores the site and its database and sends the booking emails on our behalf.
- Our email provider: a copy of each booking and message email goes to a Google Gmail inbox that the owner reads.
- Our booking alert: a short summary of each booking (reference, journey, party, fare, and your name, phone and email) goes to the owner's phone on WhatsApp. CallMeBot, a messaging gateway, passes it to WhatsApp, which Meta runs.
We give data to the police or a court only when the law obliges us to.
Data Outside The European Union
The booking copy held in Gmail is processed by Google, and the WhatsApp alert by Meta. Both may store data in the United States. Google LLC and Meta Platforms take part in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognised as giving adequate protection in its decision of 10 July 2023. Everything else stays with our host.
How Long We Keep It
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Booking details and the emails about them | 3 years after the date of the transfer |
| Invoices and accounting records | 10 years, as article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code requires |
| Contact form messages | 3 years after our last exchange with you |
| Request counters with the hashed IP address | Entries older than 1 hour are dropped at the next request |
After these periods we delete the data or make it anonymous.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you (access)
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete (rectification)
- delete your data, unless the law obliges us to keep it (erasure)
- pause the use of your data while a question is settled (restriction)
- stop using data we hold on the basis of our legitimate interest (objection)
- send you your booking data in a common file format (portability)
You can also leave instructions on what happens to your data after your death, as article 85 of the French Data Protection Act allows.
Send an email to bookings@taxiserviceparis.com to use any of these rights. We answer within one month, and we may ask for proof of identity first. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the CNIL, 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, or at www.cnil.fr.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The forms check every field on the server, the database password is kept outside the public files, and only staff with their own account can open the booking records.
Changes To This Policy
If we change how we use personal data, we update this page and the date at the top of it.
